General Job Description

Successful candidate will be assigned to projects involving the design, development, and production of low voltage variable frequency drives. This key role will interface with customers, and with all levels of management.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities:

• Manage projects from inception through completion, and keep team updated on progress
• Design, write, code and document programs for various embedded CPU systems
• Interface with customers, learn their business and understand their technical requirements
• Team with Quality Control throughout the validation process
• Act as liaison with Marketing
• Conduct team meetings and hold members accountable for progress status
• Debug, test and modify code written by others
• Write code in assembly and in C languages
• Provide documentation on code and write design documents and validation procedures
• Use PROM, EPROM, EEPROM programmers to generate parts prototypes

Minimum Position Requirements:

• 5-7 years experience with power electronics, motor drives or UPS.
• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
• Previous experience with AC motor drives or UPS is REQUIRED
• Embedded programming experience is required; code/firmware developed based on any microcontroller and/or DSP for power electronics system
• Hands-on experience with system debugging with both hardware and software
• C and C++ experience is required
• Have knowledge and understanding of CPU architectures as used in embedded systems is required
• Experience in ARM Microcontrollers and GNU GCC required
• Experience with Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS) required
• Experience with communication protocols required
• Experience with MySQL and other Database languages is a plus required
• Be able to test and debug embedded code using simulators, emulators and target systems required
• Use various compilers, linkers, and locators to generate embedded code required
• Experience/understanding of firmware (interface with hardware), peripheral electrical circuits required
• Project management, customer support and team-lead experience is preferred 
• Must be a team player and able to work in a culturally diverse environment
